Original Date Posted: July 14, 2015 2:18 pm

Due Date: 8/17/2015, 3:00 PM (Pacific)

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) intends to advertise the week of July 13 to 17, 2015, in the Daily Journal of Commerce (DJC) a “Request for Proposal (RFP) for “SPU South Park Drainage Conveyance Improvements and/or SPU Citywide On-Call Drainage and Waste Water Triage Planning Support (15-062-S).”

Consultant expertise is required to assist the Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) in two ways:

  • Planning and options analysis services for drainage conveyance improvements in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle.  This work will support SPU in programmatic development of a drainage conveyance system in approximately 20 blocks of South Park that currently lacks a formal drainage system.  Options analysis will include layout, pipe sizing, hydraulic modeling, sequencing, cost estimates and analysis of adaptive management strategies for addressing climate change.  Assuming satisfactory performance, it is SPU’s intent to amend the contract to include design services and engineering services during construction as needed to supplement SPU staff.  Background information regarding the work in South Park is available at: http://www.seattle.gov/util/ForBusinesses/BusinesswithSPU/index.htm
  • On-call support for Citywide Triage Planning, to support the Drainage and Wastewater System Planning Program.  The Consultant may be asked to provide this service to address emerging needs identified through the DWW System Planning Program in the form of planning, assessing, and/or developing potential changes to the City of Seattle’s DWW systems.

Consultants may submit proposals for either or both bodies of work.  Proposals due by 3:00 PM on August 17, 2015.

Interested consultants will be encouraged to review the RFP, background documents, and any RFP addenda online at https://www.ebidexchange.com/seattle.

An optional pre-proposal meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Conference Room 4901 of the Seattle Municipal Tower Building, 700 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM.
