Project Description:  The Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants with expertise in:

• Geotechnical engineering
• Subsurface explorations
• Dam engineering
• Hydrogeology
• Hydraulics

SPU is evaluating the possibility of increasing the maximum normal operating elevation of Masonry Pool/Chester Morse Lake from elevation 1,563 ft (CLD – City Light Datum) to 1,566 ft. It is anticipated that in order to achieve this goal, several issues related to dam safety will need to be evaluated.

Engineer’s Estimate:  $350,000 – $450,000

Proposal Due Date and Time:  7/6/2011, 3:00:00 PM Pacific

Pre-Proposal Conference:  6/29/2011, 2:30 pm PST at the Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 – 5th Ave, Floor 44, Room 4431, Seattle, WA 98104.

Event description: The first part of this meeting will be to familiarize attendees with the RFQ purpose and scope of work, along with a Q&A time. Followed by a networking session to allow potential subconsultants the opportunity to circulate through and meet with the identified primes. Potential Subs are encouraged to bring their business card with a one page profile that states the name of their company, address and key contact person and phone number, the type and scope of work they perform and three references. Presubmittal meeting at the Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 5th Avenue, Seattle. Floor 44, Room 4431 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
