REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
for
On-Call Archaeology and Historic Resources Consultant
Seattle City Light (SCL) is seeking a qualified consultant team to provide on-call archaeology and historic resources regulatory compliance services in its service territory and at its hydroelectric projects. The contract will be for a term of approximately 3 years. The on-call contractor will be assigned tasks that may include the following: conducting background research, participating in consultation with governments of affected tribes and regulatory agencies regarding cultural resource issues, responding to and evaluating unanticipated discoveries, conducting archaeological testing for prehistoric and historic-period sites, completing Cultural Resource Reports and archaeological site/isolate inventory forms, determining National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility of sites, analyzing survey results and preparing reports, developing Archaeological Monitoring Plans or a Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) for historic properties, monitoring conditions of historic properties and evaluating possible threats to integrity, and assisting with historic structure management issues.
The term of the contract shall extend from the date of execution by the Superintendent of Seattle City Light, or designee, through July 2016. City Light has not identified a budget for this project but estimates the contract to be $270,000.00.
SCL, may at its option amend the original contract for scope, time, and funding, subject to the continuing appropriation authority by the Seattle City Council.
