Replacement Project
SPU RFQ/Contract# 17-088-E
The City of Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting qualifications from qualified consultants to develop design specifications for the procurement and installation of a new 48-inch diameter valve to replace the South Fork Tolt Dam Valve 15 on an expedited manner.
This contract scope will focus on design work from an experienced and qualified consultant available immediately to develop specifications to procure and install a new valve to replace Tolt Valve 15, regarding which the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC) has directed the City to expedite replacement.
The consultant will also support the City during the procurement of the new valve, the selection of a construction contractor to remove the existing valve and install the new valve, and during the removal and installation work.
The consultant will also assist the City in the development of commissioning documents and as-built record drawings.
The consultant contract is considered an emergency contract where work needs to proceed as early as August 1, 2017. The contract duration is anticipated to be for 18-months. The total contract amount is estimated at $400,000.
