Due Date: 2:00 PM, August 29th, 2017

CITY OF SEATTLE
NOTICE TO CONSULTANTS
Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for
Trees for Neighborhoods Support
SPU RFQ #17-038-S

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified consultants for the City of Seattle Trees for Neighborhoods Support project. The Trees for Neighborhoods project helps residents plant and maintain healthy trees around their homes. Free trees are provided as well as water bags, site selection and planting workshops, and ongoing care reminders to Seattle residents who want to plant trees on private residential property, including rights-of-way. Trees for Neighborhoods provides a variety of trees each year, including small, medium, and large trees to meet the needs of residential properties and to add to Seattle’s tree diversity. The program partners with City Light to replace trees removed because of power infrastructure conflicts. Trees for Neighborhoods also partners with SDOT to permit approximately 250 trees in the public right-of-way each year.

This work directly supports the City of Seattle’s goal to reach 30% canopy cover by 2037, as outlined in the 2013 Urban Forest Stewardship Plan. Planting trees in urban areas provides important environmental, social, economic, and public health benefits, including the reduction of stormwater and pollution into Seattle’s waterways.

This contract (maximum duration 5 years) will support the annual delivery of Trees for Neighborhoods and be conducted in annual phases via an annual Notice to Proceed. Interested consultants are encouraged to review the RFQ, background documents, and any RFQ addenda online at https://www.ebidexchange.com/seattle. Note that you are required to complete a free registration to view, print or save documents posted on this website and to view contact information for other consultants who have downloaded documents from this website.

The deadline for submitting Qualifications is 2:00 PM, August 29th, 2017, at the 50th Floor, Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 Fifth Ave., PO Box 34018, Seattle, WA 98104-4018.

SPU PRE-SUBMITTAL CONFERENCE:   August 14th, 2017, from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM in the Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 Fifth Ave, Room 4086.  Attendance is highly encouraged but not mandatory. Those firms and individuals planning to attend should RSVP to E-Bid at https://www.ebidexchange.com/seattle.

Questions regarding this RFQ should be submitted to E-Bid at https://www.ebidexchange.com/seattle.
