Project: SDOT 18-035 City of Seattle Dynamic Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Siting Model and EV Charging Infrastructure Roadmap for Shared Mobility Hubs
The City of Seattle, through Seattle Department of Transportation, requests Statements of Proposals (SOP) from qualified firms for SDOT 18-035 City of Seattle Dynamic Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Siting Model and EV Charging Infrastructure Roadmap for Shared Mobility Hubs.
This contract is estimated to be up to $70,000 with the time of performance expected to be for 11 weeks from notice to proceed.
Seattle is in the process of developing a network of Shared Mobility Hubs to create seamless transportation connections and travel information at key transit access points, establishing a consistently understandable and on-demand travel experience throughout Seattle. These hubs are often collocated with major transit facilities and intersecting transit services to enhance the efficiency of the transit system and to increase first and last mile connections. Shared Mobility Hubs will advance the use of electric car share and ridesourcing vehicles by providing EV charging infrastructure in or very near the places where transportation connections already occur. SDOT has completed a draft siting analysis for Shared Mobility Hubs, which should be finalized prior to the start of this project. This project will develop an EV Charging Infrastructure Roadmap to serve Shared Mobility Hubs through the development of a Dynamic Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Siting Model. Selected vendor will develop a Dynamic EVSE Siting Model that displays in a heatmap view with block-level resolution certain regions of top priority for EVSE installation in Seattle according to several criteria that align with the City’s broader goals for electrification and project specific goals for EVSE siting near Shared Mobility Hubs. The model will be designed as a tool for future use by the City’s electrification planners to continue making efficient and equitable decisions on EVSE siting as the landscape matures. Vendor will use the model to inform the creation of an EVSE Roadmap and Strategic Siting Analysis that will guide the City’s implementation 100 EVSE at or near Shared Mobility Hubs.
