FAS-RFP-2019-9519
Project Title: Real Estate Best Practices Study
Submittals Due by: 2:00 PM PST, September 25, 2019
The City of Seattle’s Department of Finance and Administrative Services (FAS) is currently seeking a qualified consultant that specializes in institutional real estate portfolio management to provide information and recommendations to strengthen the City’s stewardship of real property assets as a strategic owner, seller, occupier and community partner.
The City of Seattle owns an extensive and diverse real estate portfolio. Jurisdiction over property is currently assigned to nine different departments; the separate operational focus of each of these jurisdictional departments may not maximize the long-term public uses and benefits that a given property can support. Public needs change over time, and current planning efforts may not anticipate opportunities provided by reuse or repurposing of City real estate.
The scope of work includes a comprehensive analysis of public and private real estate portfolio best practices and recommendations for organizational changes and practices. The City hopes to emphasize shared solutions and to provide more cost-effective and efficient delivery of real estate management functions, enhancing delivery of public services.
