DISTRIBUTION ENGINEERING SERVICE DESIGN ENGINEERS

Seattle City Light (SCL) Distribution Engineering has experienced increasing customer service requests that require Consultant engineering support in a timely manner. The purpose of this Engineering Service Design solicitation is to support SCL Distribution Engineering on the electrical service design for the buildings/houses served from Overhead or Underground systems. The initial training will be provided by SCL’s Distribution Engineering staff at a SCL facility for approximately 3 months. The work performed under this contract shall consist of multiple assignments for each contracted engineer estimated at 25 to 30 hours for each Work Order package. The project scope for each work order may involve any one or combination of the tasks Scope of Work of this RFQ.


The term of the contract shall extend from the date of execution by the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Seattle City Light, or designee. City Light has identified a budget of $2,000,000 for this project to span a maximum of 2 years.


SCL, may at its option, amend the original contract for scope, time, and funding, subject to the continuing appropriation authority by the Seattle City Council.


Seattle City Light is hosting a Pre-submittal Conference virtually via MS Teams on April 23, 2021 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM (PST). Details are provided in the RFQ.

The City’s proposed schedule is outlined in the RFQ.


The contract that is awarded as a result of this RFQ will be awarded in a manner that will comply with all applicable laws of the United States, State of Washington, the City Charter, and Ordinances of the City of Seattle.


“WOMEN AND MINORITY AFFIRMATIVE EFFORTS REQUIREMENTS: All proposals are required to meet the Affirmative Efforts requirements as specified in the RFQ/RFP. An Outreach Plan will be required for the top-rated consultant(s).”
