Project: SDOT 21-025
Safe and Slow Seattle (Re-advertised)

The City of Seattle, through Seattle Department of Transportation, requests Statements of Proposals from qualified firms for SDOT 21-025 Safe and Slow Seattle.

In accordance with funding granted to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) from the Washington State Transportation Safety Commission (WSTSC), SDOT seeks consultant services to launch and sustain an educational campaign to improve driver behavior, specifically compliance with state and local laws to make the most vulnerable travelers of our city’s streets safer.  The campaign will aim to gain traction on two complimentary messages: 

•           Lower speed limits save lives 

•           Every intersection is a legal pedestrian crossing  

This contract is for a consultant to facilitate transcreating a brand and messaging with our focus communities.  The consultant will also deliver the campaign through a variety of media, including coordinating and purchasing ad buys. 

This contract is estimated to be approximately $157,000, but of this $77,000 is for reimbursement of ad buys. The time of performance expected to be between November 2021 and October 2022.   It is anticipated that this contract will receive federal National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) funds and therefore will proceed under this assumption.

The Request for Proposal packet includes a more detailed Scope of Work, administrative requirements such as sub-consulting, insurance, selection process, schedule, etc.

The City of Seattle in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap/disabled, age in consideration for an award.
