The City of Seattle, through Seattle Department of Transportation, requests proposals from qualified communications firms for SDOT ROSTER SOLICITATION 14-120 – Capital Projects Communications Outreach Support.
SDOT shall select up to three consultant firms to complete work to provide in-house support for a variety of capital projects. Each contract is estimated to be up to $280,000 with a possible extension of up to $350,000, depending on the performance of selected consultants. Work is estimated to begin in February 2015 and last for approximately one to two years.
SCOPE OF WORK: The consultant shall provide communications and public outreach support for SDOT’s Capital Projects and Roadway Structures Division. The Consultant will provide one to three part-time to full-time public involvement leads to be co-located at SDOT offices in the Seattle Municipal Tower. Key tasks could include: preparation of informational materials such as fact sheets, display boards and flyers; development of outreach and event plans; drafting responses for constituent correspondence; designing and facilitating public opinion gathering and education events; staffing and facilitating various outreach meetings and events; identifying public market groups and media to target distributing flyers and/or conducting door-to-door outreach activities. Graphic design support would include preparing maps, labeling images and plans, and creating other miscellaneous graphics to support outreach activities.
Any consultant submitting proposals shall register with the City’s Consultant Roster Program in one of the following categories: Communications; Public Information and Public Relations; Public Involvement and Community Outreach. Consultant’s must be registered and approved to the Roster by the submittal due date.
Electronic proposals must be received by the Seattle Department of Transportation, Attention: Brian Sperry, Contract Manager Brian.Sperry@seattle.gov and copy to Ryan Hawkes, Consultant Contracts Specialist Ryan.Hawkes@seattle.gov no later than 4:00pm on January 15, 2015. Proposals received after this time and date will not be accepted.
