REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

for

Bothell – Shoreline Transmission Line Study

Solicitation# SCL-12360

The City of Seattle, Seattle City Light Department (“SCL”), seeks to engage a consultant to provide Civil Engineering consulting services to design the installation of fiber optic line on electrical transmission lines from Bothell Substation to 185th Ave NE and NE 9th Street.

SCL is seeking qualified firms to provide the following:

Structural analysis of poles, towers and foundations, computer modeling, designs, construction cost estimates as well as assistance during fabrication and construction. This will require site visits to survey the size types and condition of towers and poles. Based on this information, an analysis will be done and a report will be generated by a licensed Civil Engineer to provide the structural analysis and fiber installation design.

The term of the contract shall extend from the date of execution by the Superintendent of Seattle City Light, or designee, through June 30, 2014. City Light has identified a budget for this project but estimates the contract to be $160,000.00

SCL may amend the original contract for scope, time, and funding, subject to the continuing appropriation authority by the Seattle City Council.

The contract that is awarded as a result of this RFQ will be awarded in a manner that will comply with all applicable laws of the United States, State of Washington, the City Charter, and Ordinances of the City of Seattle.
