On-Call Engineering Services

The City of Seattle Department of Finance and Administrative Services (FAS), Capital Development &Construction Management Division (CDCM) seeks consultant mechanical and electrical engineers to provide professional services for general facilities projects located throughout Seattle. Selected firms may be large or small, with various areas of specialty. CDCM is pursuing on-call contracts with engineering firms especially for those scopes of work for which the skills of a full design team are not needed. These contracts are used for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, specialty programs (vehicle fleets, health and social services, emerging technologies, etc.), design and engineering for projects with construction administration, preliminary engineering, building and project evaluation, option analyses, site assessments, cost estimating, master planning. Successful consultants will demonstrate ualifications to perform any or all of the following: mechanical, electrical and controls engineering. Responding consultants should indicate expertise in one or any combination of these trades and are strongly encouraged to detail specialty areas. Sample scopes of work may include mechanical, electrical, or controls engineering studies, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, recommendations, design, plans, specifications and estimates, plan review, permitting, reports, construction administration and inspection, expert witness, detailed design of controls systems for new facilities, renovations, or retro-commissioning efforts; review of existing controls systems/sequences of operation; creation of detailed logic diagrams using non-proprietary symbols; creation of ladder diagrams of hardwired components; and other professional services related to mechanical, electrical, and DDC control systems design and operation.
CDCM anticipates executing multiple contracts for terms of five (5) years each.
