COMPLEX SPOT SEWER REPAIRS
SPU RFP/Contract# 23-171-S

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a civil engineering consulting team to lead and execute design services to achieve complex sewer repairs at up to 70 sites throughout the City of Seattle. SPU plans this consulting services contract for an estimated budget of $5M to $7.5M. Repair sites were reported for priority repairs between 2 years to over 15 years ago, with an average reported age of over 5 years, with 15 sites reported over 6 years ago. 

Sites for repairs include one (or more) factors including engineering, ADA compliant ramp design, SDOT and/or Parks property approvals, railway (BNSF) permitting and coordination, traffic control requirements from SDOT and WSDOT, tree removal, construction dewatering, no established physical access, inaccessible from the public ROW, excavations over 20-ft or within zones of influence of buildings, bridges or other utilities requiring structural shoring, Environmentally Critical Areas (ECAa) for water, steep slopes, poor or contaminated soils. There are also sites that require private property coordination including constructing repairs and requesting access on private property, with only some repairs that have existing permanent easements.

The City strongly prefers that consultants submit questions in Bonfire but will accept questions submitted to the Contract Administrator in email format, as well. To facilitate preparation of responses to questions, please submit questions by no later than 5:00 PM Pacific Time on 10/5/2023.
