Project Description: PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Seattle is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide General Contractor/Construction Management services for the GENESEE CSO REDUCTION PROJECT. This project will construct two separate offline storage facilities and associated appurtenances for Genesee CSO Basins 40/41 and 43. The general scope of work will include:
1. BASINS 40/41 – STORAGE IN 49TH AVENUE SOUTH PARKING LOT SITE
Construction of an underground storage facility located in a parking lot next to Lake Washington Boulevard South, between 48th Avenue South and 49th Avenue South. The major project components include the following (dimensions and sizes are approximate):
• 0.48 million gallon off-line underground storage tank, with automated tipping bucket wash down
(Tank Size: 90 feet X 40 feet X 30 feet deep)
• Underground facilities vault with odor control, mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• 6-foot-diameter, 15-foot deep diversion structure
• 12-inch-diameter, 450-foot long gravity diversion sewer along 49th Avenue South
• 24-inch-diameter, 100-foot long gravity diversion sewer to storage tank
• 15-foot-wide by 20-foot-long by 7 foot-deep diversion structure
• 8-inch-diameter, approximately 100-foot-long discharge force main from tank to primary diversion structure
• 2-inch water service, 100 feet long
• Right-of-way improvements
• Stormwater improvements
2. BASIN 43 – STORAGE IN 53RD AVENUE SOUTH PARKING LOT SITE
Construction of an underground storage facility located near the intersection of 53rd Avenue South and Lake Washington Boulevard South. The major project components include:
• 0.12 million gallon off-line underground storage tank, with automated tipping bucket wash down (Tank Size: 120 feet X 24 feet X 18 feet deep)
• Underground facilities vault with odor control, mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• 6-inch-diameter, 100-foot long discharge force main from tank to primary diversion structure
• Modifications to the existing CSO storage pipe flow control device
• 12-inch-diameter, 100-foot-long gravity diversion sewer
• 2-inch water service, 100 feet long
• Electrical and communications conduits
• Temporary rerouting of the Lake Washington Boulevard pedestrian/bicycle trail during construction
• Right-of-way improvements
• Stormwater improvements
Engineer’s Estimate: $17,000,000
