REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
For
CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING INITIATIVE
The City of Seattle, Seattle City Light Department (“SCL”), seeks to engage a consultant to provide consulting services.
Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public power system in the United States based upon retail energy sales. As a municipally-owed and public power system we are governed by elected Seattle officials and primarily supported by customer revenues as well as surplus power sales. Here at Seattle City Light it is our mission to “provide our customers the best customer service experience of any utility in the country.” In keeping with our vision to provide to our customer the best customer service experience we are seeking a qualified consultant who can develop and deliver customer service training to our 1800 member workforce that consist of professional, Para-professional, skills trades and management located in our Seattle, Newhalem and Metaline Falls facilities.
SCL is seeking qualified firms to provide the following:
The term of the contract shall extend from the date of execution by the Superintendent of Seattle City Light, or designee, through. City Light has identified a budget for this project but estimates the contract to be $100,000.
SCL, may at its option amend the original contract for scope, time, and funding, subject to the continuing appropriation authority by the Seattle City Council.

The City’s proposed schedule is outlined in the RFP.
The contract that is awarded as a result of this RFP will be awarded in a manner that will comply with all applicable laws of the United States, State of Washington, the City Charter, and Ordinances of the City of Seattle.
