SPU Water Taps Process Improvements (Project Taps)
SPU RFQ/Contract# 15-265-S

The City of Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting qualifications from qualified consultants for the next phase of process improvements for the Development Services Office (DSO) 2.0 Program for the SPU Water Taps Process Improvements (Project Taps), which is the focus of this RFQ.

SPU customers work with SPU to have a connection to the water main installed from the water main adjacent to their property; this connection is called a “water tap”. SPU is seeking to improve this process, which is cumbersome, untimely, and not meeting the needs of the development community. SPU seeks to reduce customer turnaround time and increase customer service.

The estimated cost of this project is dependent on Consultant qualifications and negotiated approach.

The deadline for submitting Qualifications is 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 7, 2016, to Vicky Schiantarelli, Contract Administrator, SPU Contracts Division for (direct submittal or special delivery) at the 50^th Floor, Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104-4018, or by post/mail to Vicky Schiantarelli, Contract Administrator, SPU Contracts Division, PO Box 34018, Seattle, WA  98124-4018.

A SPU Pre-Submittal Conference for prospective bidders will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Conference Room SMT 1600 (16th Floor) of the Seattle Municipal Tower Building, 700 Fifth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104, from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM. Seattle Public Utilities will review the scope of work, consultant expectations, and answer questions from the prospective bidders. Time will be allocated for prospective bidders to network with each other and discuss teaming arrangements. Although attendance to this meeting is not mandatory, attendance is highly encouraged.
