NOTICE TO CONSULTANTS

Request for Proposals (RFP) for

Seattle Schools Recycling & Compost Education

SPU RFP/Contract# 21-238-S

The City of Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide expertise in recycling and composting education. Seattle Public Utilities has partnered with Seattle Public Schools and the area’s private k-12 schools to reach students with Seattle’s recycling and composting messages since 1990. For more information on current programing, see https://www.seattle.gov/utilities/protecting-our-environment/education/school-recycling-and-waste-reduction  With this solicitation, we are seeking innovative ideas to reach our recycling and composting goals, develop environmentally-aware young residents, and reach our Service Equity goal that all Seattle’s kids have an equal opportunity to participate, regardless of school resources. The Consultant will develop and implement a Recycling & Compost Education program in Seattle Public Schools (SPS) that increases recycling and composting at school sites and at the homes of students.

 This is a 3 year contract with a defined scope of work and varied schedule of deliverables. The estimated completion date for deliverables is June 30, 2025. The estimated contract total is $180,000.00. SPU does not guarantee any minimum quantity of work under this contract. Consultants are subject to all applicable laws and WMBE requirements.

SPU will review the scope of work, consultant expectations, and answer questions from the prospective bidders. Although attendance at this meeting is not mandatory, attendance is highly encouraged.
