Project Title: Seattle Center Monorail Electrical Engineering Support

Electronic Submittal of Qualifications Due by: 2:00 PM PDT, Tuesday, 12/12/2023

Purpose: The purpose of this solicitation is to retain the services of a qualified Electrical Engineering firm and sub-consultant team to provide support for electrical and control system upgrades, major maintenance, and repairs to the Seattle Center Monorail trains and wayside systems (this includes but is not limited to the train low and high voltage system, train propulsion system, train electrification, switchgear, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and monitoring, platform door and ramp controls, and signaling system).  The team will also assist with upgrading legacy 700VDC propulsion systems to a more modern system that will continue to utilize the existing infrastructure as much as possible.

Period of Performance: Work shall be performed over the next five (5) years.  The Consultant shall work with the Project Manager to ensure that work performed meets the needs and expectations of the Monorail.  This will be a cost-reimbursement with fixed-fee for profit contract, and total work is estimated to be approximately $750,000. Selection for this RFQ is subject to all applicable laws and ordinances.  This contract is funded, in part, by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration and is subject to the requirements set forth by the FTA Master Agreement.  The Federal clauses applicable to this contract are in the Standard Consultant Contract Template with Federal Clauses.

DBE Requirement:  A contract goal of 5.0% has been established for this procurement. The DBE goal for this procurement is race conscious.  

Optional Pre-Submittal Conference:  Seattle Center is hosting an optional virtual pre-submittal conference on November 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM PDT. Details provided in the RFQ.
