Project: SDOT 14-128 BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY ANALYSIS
The City of Seattle, through Seattle Department of Transportation, requests Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified engineering firms for SDOT 14-128 Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Analysis.
This contract is estimated to be around $350,000 with the time of performance expected to be between March 2015 and November 15, 2015.
Through this RFQ, SDOT seeks a qualified consultant team to perform an in-depth analysis of the compiled collision, roadway, and traffic data to investigate how different roadway and facility types affect safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. The analysis will be multivariable/multi-factorial. This work will include the development of analytical tools that can be used by SDOT to analyze the dataset in future years. The consultant team will use the results of the analysis to produce a prioritized list of bicycle and pedestrian spot improvement locations. In addition, they will also produce final reports that summarize the findings from the bicycle and pedestrian safety analyses.
The results of this project will provide a method for SDOT to track the safety performance of different facility types. Since this effort takes a data-driven approach, the aim is to have a process in place for identifying both spot and systemic improvements that is repeatable, and can be updated periodically as new data are compiled, as a function of SDOT.
