ON CALL – COMMUNICATIONS OUTREACH

Seattle City Light is seeking consultant support to augment our own communications and outreach capacity as we execute on City Light’s 2023-2028 Strategic Plan business strategies and translate these strategies into tactical communications workstreams and materials for successful delivery. This on-call contract will be managed under the oversight of City Light’s Communications Division.

Nearly one million people in the Seattle area rely on Seattle City Light (SCL) every day to keep their homes comfortable, businesses operating, and communities vibrant. It is our responsibility and privilege to provide our customers with power that is reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible, generated primarily from carbon-free hydropower.

We strive to deliver reliable energy to customers while also working to advance equity, achieve excellence, operate sustainably, and take care of our employees. And we work hard to keep the power on, even in challenging situations like extreme weather, population growth, ever-changing business demands, and a rapidly evolving energy landscape. As a recognized leader in equitable energy transition, we understand that the transformation to a clean and modern energy system involves much more than clean energy; it will require changes to almost every aspect of a utility’s business. The ongoing energy transition is a once-in-a-century opportunity to benefit the health and wellbeing of our communities. Customers, public and private organizations, and City Light as a provider of reliable, affordable, net-carbon-neutral electricity – are collectively leading the changes that are underway.

Our commitment both to our core business and necessary evolution is guided by City Light’s Strategic Plan and its five business strategies: Improve the Customer Experience; Create Our Energy Future; Develop Workforce & Organizational Agility; Ensure Financial Health & Affordability; and We Power, which reflects projects and work that advance our mission to provide our customers with reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible energy services.

As a public utility, our goals are defined by our customers and the communities we serve. City Light and its employees are deeply committed to communicating and engaging with customers, residents, business owners, and others who live or work in our service area or otherwise engage in activities with City Light.

Seattle City Light would like to award up to eighteen (18) professional firms for this On-Call Contract/Agreement. City Light anticipates that work done under these general contracts to be approximately Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) for the total of all contracts awarded for a duration of five-years.
